"I felt broken for so many years that I forgot I could feel anything else. So what did I do? I broke myself even more. But this time, the intent was to turn this broken person into beautiful stained glass window, with a new perspective."
Why I Do, What I do.
I'm just here to help. I've been a client longer than I've been a licensed professional, therefore, my approach is simple. There are things we can learn from years of education and some things take years of trial and error. I've experienced them both. As a result, I don't spend my time preaching about how a certain treatment plan or counseling technique will make everything feel better. I work with you to figure out how to help you help yourself, because counseling isn't supposed to be forever.
Other facts about me:
I am a certified Clinical Rehabilitation Counselor. and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated with my Master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center after receiving my undergrad at University of Texas at Arlington in Architecture.
I completed my practicum and internship at UT Southwestern's Rehabilitation Counseling Clinic, where I gained experience in Supported Employment Services and Personal and Social Adjustment Training while actively providing counseling and assessment services to clinic patients. I also co-facilitated a Traumatic Brain Injury Support group during my time there. After graduating, I worked at the University of North Texas Health Science Center as an Adjunct Faculty, Alzheimer's Researcher, and a Neuropsychological Testing Specialist.
I'm a serial Entrepreneur. I love business (not the stuff they teach you in school, I love hands on business experience.) I grew up in Trinidad working in the family business alongside my great-grandparents and my parents. I'm an open book, Ask me anything. If it's in my table of contents I promise I'll have an answer for you.
